The assessment for the course is 70% end of term exam and 30% course work. The following basic structure is how we should progress through the course materials
Week 1 General introduction to the course My Notes
Week 2 Risk and interest rates and bonds Chapters 1, 2 and 8
Week 3 Cost of capital Chapters 9, 11 and 12
Week 4 Portfolio theory and how the stock market works Chapters 10, 11 and my notes
Week 5 Investment in projects, mergers and acquisitions Chapters 5, 6 and 7
Week 6 Valuing Companies Chapter 14
Week 7 Business cash cycle Chapters 3, 4 
Week 8 Bringing the course together and a brief look at international finance My Notes
Week 9 Course work has to be handed in by 29 Nov 2000  
Week 10 Revision Answers Part 1 Part 2  

As well as the course book I will go through some other examples and would ask you to do some work on valuing shares using a spreadsheet, so try to come prepared! (get notes on using Excel 97 here)
